D.I.Y: Book Page Stocking Bunting

Not all Christmas decorations have to be expensive, especially when you can make them yourself. This simple bunting is easy to make, inexpensive and looks great.

What you will need:
An old book (preferably with no pictures, and lots of text.)
a ruler, pencil and scissors
brown watercolor paint
patterned paper.

Step 1: Go to a page of the book with lots of text. Draw out the shape of the bunting with a ruler and cut it out.

Step 2: Place your cut out  piece of  bunting on another page and trace the outline. Cut it out.

Step 3: repeat the previous step until you have 5 pieces of bunting. (you can cut out as many as you want but this is the amount I used for mine )

Step 4: paint a bit of the watercolor onto a paper plate.

Step 5: dip the sides in the paint.

you could also use a flat topped paint brush to paint the edges for the points.

you should end up with a vintage-y effect on the edges of each page.

Step 6: Cut stockings out of patterned paper. Christmas themed paper probably works better but unfortunately I had none.

Step 7: Use a hole punch to put a hole in the top two corners of each page. string thread or string through the holes and arrange the pages how you want them. Now just hang them up! I hung mine on my fireplace, just with sellotape, but I' advise  using something more permanent.

Autumn.

As much as I love winter, autumn is possibly the best season for taking photos. So naturally I couldn't help posting some of my favorite photos I took in autumn. Although in winter there's Christmas Starbucks cups, fairy lights, not to mention snow, autumn colors just have something magical about them. Maybe its the crunch of the leaves under your feet as you walk through the crisp cold air, or just simply pumpkins, I love Autumn.

However, December is here and winter is well under way... and I couldn't be more excited for Christmas. It's very likely my next few blog post will be Christmas related... can't say I'm sorry!

Introduction.

Hi there! This is a new blog... I've started blogs a couple of  times but never kept them up. I've decided to stat this blog - and keep it up. Posting once or twice every week is going to be a somewhat early new years resolution. I've decided to focus on three things for this blog to be based on. DIY, beauty and lifestyle. I love photography, so I might post some photos i take too.
